While carrying out a boiler service at a large property we noticed a lot of the radiators weren’t getting very hot,  We carried out some tests with our thermal imaging camera and notice there was a lot of sludge and magnetite Stuck in the bottom of the radiators.

“WHAT IS MAGNETITE (‘BLACK SLUDGE’)?

Magnetite is a term used in plumbing to describe the dissolved metal held in the water of a heating or hot water system, often seen in the form of a black sludge in radiator water, particularly in the lower parts of heating systems such as the ground floor or basement.”

We advised the customer and carried a full system of power flush as per picture attached We got alot of magnetite out of  the system the left the system working extremely well and efficient, not only was the client’s lovely on warm but they save a lot of money on their gas bill. Plus it will reduce future expensive repair cost on the boiler and heating system.
